I sent my package for adjustment of status this month, but I'm a little bit concerned about my taxes. My husband is filing my petition, but we haven't filed our taxes as married. I have SSN and I've been filing my taxes since 2004 separete from my husband, becasue he has 2 kids that they are not mine and their mother is a little problematic and she already tried to include my income in child support calculations as well as our marital assets (big problem sent copy of marriage cert. to court, w-2s for me, copy of checks since we only have one bank account, etc). I was advice by the tax preparer to do it separate (not married not married filing separate).

I know they ask for the taxes because that's a proof of marriage, but I have plenty of other proof(daugther, house toguether, bank accounts, mortgage, credit cards, insurance, etc) should I go and do and amended or should I wait and see what happends. Have anyone been ordered by immigration to change their taxes????????????????
