For all those who have their loved one in Uzbekistan... the new US Embassy in Tashkent will now be doing all visas. No more being sent off to Kazakhstan.

I received notice that our petition will be sent to Tashkent instead of Almaty. I was quite puzzled until I looked online and found that the new US Embassy had opened in Tashkent.

My girl told me she seen alot of American cars and trucks traveling in the area. You see she lives about 10 minutes walk from the embassy! Which is a heck of a lot better than hours of travel and maybe a week stay in a totally strange city for her.

So anyone else now going to Tashkent instead of Almaty?

I also spoke with NVC today and they said yes... Uzbekistan petitions will be sent to Tashkent Embassy where they will be processed. No more traveling for hours to some other country for those poor girls. Makes me feel much better.

When did they start sending the petitions to Tashkent? That is great.

Do you know where I can find the web site that says that.

I would like to send the web link to my lady.

We where told in April that she would have to travel to Almaty.

I know she will be very happy to learn she does not have to go all the way to Almaty.

:dance::thumbs:

btw thanks for that update.

Thanks

The interview is done English or Russian. They have a very helpful translator in the embassy. The consul officers are very fluent in russian, also.
