Hi,

My wife and I want to travel to Canada from the US with some friends. My wife has a Green Card (conditional) and is originally from the Philippines.

My question is about her passport. Her current passport still has her maiden name on it. Her Green Card has her current married name. Would there be any issue with her leaving the country and reentry?

We had talked about getting her a new passport before a trip we are planning next year to the Philippines but this trip to Canada came up on the spur of the moment and there isn't enough time to get a new one.

Thanks for the help

David

No, there's no issue. I have the same situation and I travel in and out of the US all the time. She'll be fine. Just remember to travel with the marriage certificate. I've never had a request for it but I bring it just the same.
