i just got here 2 weeks ago..just wondering can i apply for driver's license? im in CA right now...thanks

Love is an unexpected thing...and when it arrives grab it with all ur heart....it may pass u jsut once.......

11.20.07 : mailed I130

01.23.08 : NOA1

04.21.08 : mailed I129F

04.22.08 : NOA1

05.14.08 : NOA2 both for I 130 and I 129F

06.26.08 : medical exam 2nd day PASSED!!

07.09.08 : interview day! PASSED! PINK SLIP!

07.15.08 : visa on hand!!!

08.01.08 : POE SFO (home with my papi!)

Since you have your K-3 visa (valid for 2 years) and the I-94 stamp in your passport,

as long as you bring along evidence of your new address (an official bill), you shouldn't have any problem

applying for your driver's license. They may tell you that you need a social security number, but...California law says,

"If you are legally present in the US, but ineligible for an SSN, you are exempt from SSN requirements.

However, you must still provide an acceptable birth date/legal presence document. "

Yes. Check out the CA DMV website. It tells all the documents you need and you can even download the CA driving test booklet in many languages. Also be sure to make an appointment online. I was in the local office last week and the budget cuts have turned the place into a nightmare. They will only see people with appointments until the budget crisis is over.

Feb 11, 2005 ZAGS wedding in Moscow

Aug 7,2005 married in the Cathedral in Dmitrov

June 27, 2008 mail I-130

July 11,2008 sent I-129F

Oct 2, 2008 Yuri received packets 3+4 from US Embassy Moscow

Nov 20, 2008 Interview....VISA APPROVED!!!!!!

Dec 10, 2008 Yuri arrived! No problems :)

April 20, 2009 mailed AOS

May 4, 2009 medical exam

May 21, 2009 biometrics done

June 5, 2009 received EAD by mail

Aug 10, 2009 interview-given greencard congradulations letter with stamp

oh wow! so i can get it even without SSN?? wow coz they wont give me ssn! k3 visa holders so miserable no ssn till i have ead or gc!!

can i also get state ID here in ca?

eYep, same requirements for State ID as DL....except for the written and road test.
