Hey everyone.....So I would like to start by saying thanks. Everywhere I looked made it seem like this process would be very difficult to do alone....now I have a little confidence that I actually can do it on my own. I ve a few questions though from the first few documents I am preparing. question 15 on the I-130 asks about current employment.....is that my current employment (petitioner) or hers (alien)???? Also it keeps asking for a Alien registration number....where does that number come from???? and what should I put????

Thanks again

Just put "NONE" where it asks for A#. That will show up down the road.

Consider doing the CR-1 visa instead of the K3. MUCH easier, cheaper and better visa.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!

Do you really think it would be better to do a CR-1? It seems like to me from what I am reading here that because I am going through VCS which is taking a VERY long time to process I-130s that this would be an instance where the k-3 does what it is supposed to do and make it faster than the older cr-1 process.....am I confused about that???

When you file the I-130, you are filing for CR-1. When you file the I-129F you are filing for K-3. Generally what has been happening, is that they are approved at the same time. You then need to make decision. CR-1 is a much better and cheaper visa in the long run, although it may take you a little longer to be with your loved one due to NVC processing times. VSC has been taking a long time to approve stand-alone I-130s, but they are approving K-3s (I-130 and I-129F) quicker. I'm not sure why this is. Personally, if my I-130 and I-129F are approved at the same time (which they seem to be doing for everyone) I am going to go the CR-1 route.
