My fiancee already got her K1 visa, but we are both in Thailand now and do not feel ready to leave within six months. Is is possible to prolong the validity of the visa? Six more months would be enough. If it is possible then how do we go about it? What are the forms to file, etc.?

From what I understand, it is not possible to extend it, but it is possible- in rare circumstances- to re-issue the visa. It is up to the embassy and you'd need very good reasons though- I have seen it approved for a death in the family or for a K2 child to finish the school year.
