Hi, We are hoping to go with the K3. When my husband has his interview in London, I've heard he needs to have a "certified copy" of my passport. What or how is this obtained? Can I just send a copy of all my passport pages like I did for my original package to USCIS? Thanks Tracy and Mike

Typically a copy of passport is to show US Citizen having visited UK in the period from filing to interview.

A simple photo copy is fine, but to "Certify the copy" the US citizen can take the passport, and photo copies to a notary and get the pages notarized, stating "True and accurate Copy"

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

Exactly, and it's probably overkill but that's what I did. In some States, Notaries are not allowed to do this. There's actually no such thing as a "Certified Copy" of a US Passport.

I went with my husband to his interview in London and I can't recall that they wanted to look at my passport at all (that is, after I used it to gain entrance to the building). Have a look at this: http://www.usembassy.org.uk/cons_new/visa/iv/docs_nvc.html

The only passport they want to see is his -- no mention of the USC's.

I assume this isn't exactly true. My fiance has the second certified copy that I sent to USCIS so it has no dates included from filing to interview.
