Timeline

I posted here months ago. But, due to some changing circumstances with my gf (now fiancée), we're starting the K-1 process now. I've gathered almost all of the documents except for her letter of intent, her G-325A, her passport photo, and print photos we took together. I have the airline boarding passes from my first visit but lost the ones from my 2nd visit, would this be a problem? I have the entry/exit stamps of both trips on my US Passport. Would this be sufficient?

I wrote a statement for the I-129F Part B Question 18 Has your fiancé(e) and you met and seen you within the last 2 years. I would love to get some feedback on it. So if you see anything that I've written that shouldn't be there or stuff that's missing, please feel free to critique. Thank you! :)

I-129F Supplement: Part B, Question 18: Has your Fiance(e) met and seen you:

Here is the short version of the story of how I, [sponsor], met [beneficiary]. I’ve included “cliff notes” at the bottom if you wish to get a quick glance at the timeline of the conditions under which we met.

I met [beneficiary] through a free internet dating site (www.website.com) around the end of October 2007. After some hesitation, a friend of mine urged me to just “go for it.” Needless to say, we really hit it off! A week later, I booked my plane ticket to Sydney to meet [beneficiary] in February 2008. Waiting for 3 months before we could meet was, at times, painful, but it was all worth it! When I arrived in Sydney on Feb 9th, 2008, I stayed at a lodge located in a suburb called Burwood. [beneficiary] and I spent everyday together during my trip. I had dinner with her family a few times at the beginning of my trip. I stayed with her at her family’s home during the last 2 days of my trip.

After I returned to California, we kept in touch and spoke for nearly everyday. Before I left, I spoke with her parents and they gave their approval of our relationship. Shortly after I returned home, I discussed the possibility of marriage with her parents and they wrote a letter to me giving us their blessing. I went back again for a 2nd visit on June 20th, 2008. We were engaged two days later on June 22nd, 2008 at Darling Harbour.

At present, we still talk for hours everyday and have been continuing to grow closer.

Cliff Notes:

1) End of Oct 2007: found [beneficiary]’s profile on a free internet dating site, began

communicating with her by online chat and email

2) One week later: booked plane ticket to Sydney for visit

3) Nov 2007 – Feb 2008: kept relationship going by email, phone, online chat, letters, and video

webcam

4) Feb 9th 2008: I arrived in Sydney; she picked me up from the airport

5) Feb 9th – Feb 25th 2008: spent everyday of the trip with her; met her family a few times; went to various landmarks within/outside of Sydney

6) Feb 25th 2008: I returned to California.

7) Feb 25th – June 18th 2008: kept relationship going by email, phone, online chat, letters, and video

webcam

8) June 20th 2008: I went back to Sydney for 2nd visit.

9) June 22nd 2008: We got engaged at Darling Harbour.

10) June 30th 2008: I returned to California.

11) Present: we are still maintaining our relationship by the same methods of communication as (3) and (7)

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely yours,

[sponsor]

Could be as simple as the above. Provide the evidence of the February meeting.

OK, thanks. I'll cut it down. I just thought they'd be suspicious if I was too brief with my explanation.

The USCIS could careless about your love story... they want to know that you have met your fiance(e) IN PERSON within the previous two years. Period. Plain and simple...

I think your explanation is fine and not too long at all. J. and I did something similar, and used the explanation as a starting point for our proof of meeting in person documentation.

If it were two pages and all mushy gushyk, I might advise differently, but I don't see anything too "wrong" with what you have. Just my opinion, of course. :)
