Finally got some good news. After having sent my application in for citizenship to Nebraska back in July 2007, I received word on Monday that I attend my local service center for fingerprinting on August 12th. Here's hoping that I'm granted citizenship before my son turns 18 at the end of January. After all I've been through in the past dealing with the local service center, I'm not holding out on much hope of that happening but I will try to think positive.

Gee, from Canada to Boise, that' practically not even across the street, should make Canada and the USA one country, ha, that is if you want us, we want you, you have a lot of oil up there. We are also with Nebraska, but St. Paul, a city like Boise that nobody has ever heard of before and not very busy, why so long for your biometrics? Somebody at Boise fall asleep? Maybe you should get one of those old school house bells and ring it once a week.

Wife's N-400 has a receipt date of Mar 31, 08, biometrics was done May 7, interview July 17, wouldn't let her say her 30 oath, was told she should receive her oath letter in two weeks, now two weeks and one day, ha, wondering now if that will be two weeks and a couple of hundred days. Hearing about Justice Department delays in St. Paul, if it ain't one damn thing it's another. Summer is short and would like to plan a vacation, but it's been five years of this stuff, what's another?

Could use that buy an airline ticket trick, USCIS watches that and sets an appointment the day after you plan to leave. Just checked the mail box, nothing, maybe tomorrow. Least when you are in prison, know how many days you have left, USCIS keeps you guessing.

Nebraska received my N400 application on July 30th of last year and then informed me in November that I owed them more in fees. I sent them a receipt from USPS proving I did not owe more in fees. They then sent me a letter verifying I didn't owe them more. Sheesh. This was the first time I ever had a problem with Nebraska since the day I began to deal with them. I'm assuming they sent my application to Boise sometime later in November so my file has been sitting with Boise since then up until now. This is nothing compared to what I went through when I filed for Adjustment of Status with Boise but that's a whole different story. This is why I have the attitude of not holding out much on hope.

I was just down in New Orleans last week having flown from Boise to Minneapolis/St. Paul first so I know all about St. Paul...lol. Nice airport there. Off to Alaska at the end of the month. I refuse to put any vacation plans on hold.
