I am paranoid, I have a stupid question...

Do they deny your application due to incapacity of speaking good English?

My husband since he grew up in the province, barely speak nor understand English, will it be a problem??? I want to be there with him during his interview but I dont think the Embassy will allow me nor the interviewer specifically.

HELP!

Can you and your spouse both communicate fluently in a common language other than English, i.e. Tagalog? If so, you'll be okay!

YES I actually speak the main language "TAGALOG" and his dialect "bisaya" as well. On the other hand he hardly speak TAGALOG and its funny to admit, he doesn't understand fluent english nor to speak it.

But will they let me sit with him during his interview?

Thanks for your input badspellor :)

You might want to check the PI regional forum here for specifics: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showforum=129

but from what I usually read, in general, they actually prefer if both the beneficiary AND petitioner can make it to the interview.

The people at the embassy will be fluent in both languages so they will conduct the interview in his native language if he doesn't speak English. Speaking English is not a requirement for visa approval.

Yes you can be with your husband at the interview. This is the best thing to do to avoid misunderstandings.

You might wanna practice speaking in English with him so he'd get used to it. Maybe even make him read books aloud, watch shows and movies in English. If he doesn't try now, he will have difficulty communicating and expressing himself to people when he gets here.

Good luck! :)
