Ok so just curious....when you get your U.S Resident's card what does that mean?

Can travel out of country without using AP?

Can work without using EAP?

Can vote?

With your Green Card, you can work and travel, but not vote. You have to be a US citizen to vote.

Be very careful about voting. Sometimes (depends on the jurisdiction) even to register to vote requires a declaration of some sort that you are a U.S. citizen, and that alone could get you into trouble, too. Just make sure you read what you sign if you have to sign up to vote in a local election.

Yes exactly. One place this trips people is when attempting to get a driver's license. I have seen a few posts on here "tee hee my husband got a voter's card in the mail", I suppose not realizing how serious of an offense it is to tick a box when misunderstanding the meaning.
