Hey everybody -- Ive got a few questions about the DS-230. I'm doing DCF for my husband and on the form parts 12 & 14 I wasn't sure...

My husband is not working currently because he just finished his military service a few months ago and we want to re-establish ourselves in the US. Normally he would be a French teacher/translator. Should I write this under his occupation in number 12 or write N/A or none?

Also, I haven't been employed since I left the US 4 years ago. I used to give private lessons out of my home but have never made enough to file for taxes. I've prepared my tax statement and I-864 and so has my father, the co-sponsor. My question is in question 14 where it says 'spouses occupation' should I write private tutor or again N/A or none? I don't want a conflict to appear when they see my I-864.

Also on a lot of these forms in general where Ive written none (for example, children) the computer won't let me fill in N/A for date fields. Should I handwrite in N/A or leave them blank?

Thanks in advance!!! :luv:

For your husband I would put - previously french translator for military

For yourself I would put - homemaker

Be as truthful as possible. Things should coincide with any information that may be requested of you in the future. So if you put - tutor this wouldn't be honest as its been some time since you have done that work.
