First post and first off I would like to say Thank You! for this site and forum!!

I have spent hours here reading and have found sooo much helpful information.

(Didn't even know I could apply for a SSN simply as a K1 with a valid I-94)

My daughter and I arrived on our K1 & K2 Visas on June 23 and my US partner and I married yesterday afternoon :D :D :D

I've been looking at the I-485 form and the example and the instructions and am a little confused regarding required information from my I-94.

The form asks for the I-94#.

The only number I have on the I-94 is a printed departure number at the top left of the paper stapled into my passport.

Under that is a blank field of 3 'boxes' with 8 'boxes' directly following on next to it.

Is the departure number what I am required to give on the form... or is there meant to be another number in those blank fields that I am suppose to give?

The only other number I can find was hand written on the back of the I-94 by the immigration officer when he inspected our paperwork, under the record of changes.

Thanks :)

I-94# is preprint with at least 8 to 10 digit long in front of I-94 that they handed to you. No other # is on this I-94, etc.

Thanks for the reply :)

Wasnt sure if it was the pre-printed number on the I-94 they were asking for or if I was meant to have another number written in those empty boxes/fields

Probably wont be filing till August (moving etc has been costly) however thought we should at least start going thru all the forms and required paperwork/documents.

Cheers

Whimsical :):)

Do I enter the whole number XXXXXXXXX XX or just the first 9 digit number given?

Am I also correct in thinking the A-XXXXXXXX written in under the record of change on the back of the I-94 is my A#?

If so, am I expected to also enter my number on my daughter's form (her I-94 doesnt have this, they have written PA/ my name in this area on hers instead)

Sorry for all the pesky q's but I'd rather ask and be sure than fill forms in with missing or incorrect information.

Thanks :):)
