I agree Haggis is rough. A friend of mine in the UK used to buy Haggis in a can. God knows where he bought it from. He was cooking it when I went over to his place once - bloody place stank like hell.
I guess from a Chinese-dominated neighbourhood?

(the basic description of haggis sounds more dim-sum than European, but...)

No areas like that where we lived. I guess he got it from some obscure supermarket. LIDL or ALDI perhaps.

A french fry from McD here tastes exactly the same as a FF in McD in London/Amsterdam/Frankfurt...wherever-but a Brit chip tastes different ( even compared to Dutch fritjes-which just tastes like a knock off fish n chip shop chip). I don't know why, it just is AND it's better...IMHO...maybe I am a chip snob or something.

To the OP-sorry for going OT.

That's because Mickey D's has what passes for a "standard" (which only translates as a "standardised way of cooking"--which means roughly 1/3 cooked); they actually have a machine which will take the fries out of the frier at that preset time.

This lawsuit reminds me of the Jaffa Cakes one. Really I just wanted to mention Jaffa Cakes, because they are fab.

Full Moon!

Half Moon!

Total Eclipse!

Yes, I remember Jaffa Cakes from the M&S in Calgary.

Hmmmm, I guess I don't get it. You slice the potatoes and drop them in oil, what can be so different?

Never eaten chips in the UK, but fries taste like fries throughout the rest of Europe...

Dunno. The cut is different on a UK fish n' chip shop chip (that was hard to type...lol!), I don't know if that is something to do with it. We also have these fish n' chip shops in which these chips are sold, in other places in the UK the chips/fries are the same as everywhere else in the world.

Which can't be good...

Certainly not for whoever cleans your toilet afterwards...
