Our letter was dated three months before his interview and no, it does not need to be notarised. You may have it notarised if you feel it necessary, however. This is our experience.

A. How close to the actual date of your interview does the date on your letter of intent need to be?

B. Does it need to be notarized? I've seen forums where people say it needs to be and others where they say it's not necessary.

Thank you for your help!

hello, are letter of intent was dated in april, and are interview was in june, I had ares notarized it only took a minute and cost very little, in joan's interview they never ask for it, and she offered to show them but, they said it would not be needed, but each case is different.

Ours was dated probably that same month (or the before) since I attended the interview. I suggest making it as close as you can, it does not need to be notarized. The only document that needs a notary stamp is the I-134.
