My daughter loved this when she was a baby:

I tried to find one that said My Dad's a Hot Arab but this one will have to do:

"True freedom and the end of suffering is living in such a way as if you had completely chosen whatever you feel or experience at this moment. This inner alignment with Now is the end of suffering. Is suffering really necessary? Yes and no. If you had not suffered as you have, there would be no depth to you as a human being, no humility, no compassion. You would not be reading this now. Suffering cracks open the shell of ego, and then comes a point when it has served its purpose. Suffering is necessary until you realize it is unnecessary." Eckhart Tolle

I wish this was made a few years ago:

Hmmm.....baby tips:

1) Don't be afraid of spoiling her, i.e. picking her up too much, etc. in the first few months. She just came out and she needs to know that someone's there to protect her. :luv:

2) Light Kayro syrup and water in a bottle for gassy moments when she won't stop crying. Just a little bit will do.

3) Enjoy every smell, expression and sound. Pretty soon it'll take some convincing just to get a kiss goodbye and she'll want you to drop her off three feet from the mall entrance. :crying:

4) Sleep when she sleeps in the beginning. Someone else can clean and cook for a while. You'll need your rest.

That's it till I get more coffee.

doods, that is great advice!

I picked up Jessica every time she needed me. Spoiled, nah, just loved unconditionally :)

Time does go by so fast. Seemed like yesterday Lexy was a baby and in August she will start kindergarten. sniffle

JP I havent had enough coffee yet to deal with picture posting but my contribution to your shower is the practical stuff, I'd bring a big huge box of diapers :)

as far as parenting tips, my biggest thing is just keep your sense of humor. Dont take yourself or any of it too seriously :P enjoy your baby!

You ladies are great. Such wonderful advice! Ganja I'm totally in love with that white gown! I wish I could find something like that when we take her to Jordan to get baptized next year!

The tips are great! Rajaa you couldnt find my registery? Did you try under Mr. JP? But with the amount of gifts I got here I'm sure its already wiped out! This thread really puts a smile on my face. I just can't believe how real this is all starting to feel. Her crib and dresser were delivered yesterday, I can't stop looking at them!

VJ Hours - I am available M-F from 10am - 5pm PST. I will occasionaly put in some OT for a fairly good poo slinging thread or a donut.

 Yeah this is fun!! Congrats JP...so many great moments ahead and stressful ones...LOL. You have received a lot of great advice....the best one...sleep when the baby sleeps!! You have no idea how important that is....I think I was slightly insane the first 2 weeks not doing this...

I'm loving all the gifts everyone has given!! Amazing....:) Woohoo.

swing.jpg

The swing in our home (we have two) are lifesavers!! And like I have mentioned before diapers and formula will alone put you in debt! LOL So I'm bringing some for you to get started!

i like this too. i think they're called 'swaddle me'. they keep baby all warm and snuggly. newborns usually like being wrapped up nice and tight.
