I have been reading a lot on this forum mainly because I have a pending AOS app (duh! :bonk: ). I have seen some that have been approved and received their GC after 3 or 4 mos without interview.

If my observation is right, were these apps approved due to transfer to CSC?

If so, what are the instances of those approved without the interview? What kind of visa you entered the country with? Did you have any RFEs? Did you submit any documents for proof of relationship with your AOS app? Did you have a co-sponsor? Is your USC spouse in the military? ETC ETC.....

I have just been thinking a lot about that. I'm hoping some people would contribute to my query. :D

This purely my experience:

I entered K1 , got no RFE, I only submitted all documents listed in the guide except i693a, My husband works at USPS and no co sponsor. My 485 was transferred to CSC. Some people were transferred to CSC and still got interview . I consider mine God's grace and CSC's.

I came over with K1 visa. I just followed all the required documents stated by this link http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...mp;page=k1k3aos plus a birth certi. of my USC husband. We didn't have any co-sponsor though we're still living with his parents nor we did get any RFE's and lastly he's not in the military.

CSC approves applications because they are approvable without interview not simply because they were transferred. If there is a question or problem that cannot be resolved via RFE (causing the file to become approvable or deniable), CSC has on occasion transferred a file to the local office for interview.

YMMV

applied for K-1 June 2003, NOA 1 December 2003, received K-1, March 2004; married June 2004; applied AOS July 2004; AOS transferred to CSC September 2005; AOS approved without an interview May 2006. No RFEs, no co-sponsors, lots of evidence of proof; husband was retired Army. Local office Atlanta and very, very, very backed-up.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Our lawyer applied for us. K-1 visa, we had been married for just over a year when we applied for AOS in February 2008, transferred to CSC, submitted only the documents requested, and needed no sponsor, approved in June 2008.
