My handle here is also my yahoo id, so if you want me to look it over for you, fine. You are a professional writer though, so why not begin by understanding the assignment is a couple paragraphs, not a feature article.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

If anyone really understood Vietnamese personality (like I do) they would know that Vietnamese men are not the "kings" everyone thinks they are. Vietnamese men are actually very shy and submissive with women. They would REALLY like to be with a strong woman who takes the role of the man - they just don't have the opportunity. They become bored and resentful having to be Mr. Top Dog in their home and turn to drinking, gambling, and even violence. But when they are satisfied and happy, they are delightful men, very very respectful, gentle and overly romantic and emotional. I am not underestimating how cunning Vietnamese can be - I know they are smarter than they look. I have never been mentally intimidated by anyone but Vietnamese would be very scary if they focused that brain power of theirs. All of this, I am aware of ... I wish there was a way to express this to the consulate.

With all due respect, you need to be aware that Consular Officers in their country of assignment also understand the personalities, cultural norms, and behaviors of the natives around them. They do, after all, live in that country, and usually do so without some particular personal fascination for the people and nation around them. And they know statistically what they see come through the doors of their building seeking admission to the US. This includes foreign beneficiaries who at interview display certain reactions to their questions, and also certain behavior in USC's petitioning for them.

Bottom line - one may write a novella and send it off to USCIS in the I29F packet in preparation for 'setting' the mindset of the consulate CO. Such a writing is recommended for petitions which pass through high-fraud posts. So if a people are as 'cunning' as you claim, do you not think a CO is also aware of this fact?

L, I know you want this desperately. But don't let your skills as a writer along with your deep love for Tan take you to a place where your prose is the kiss of death for your case. Write simply and clearly about your relationship - if it as true as you say, Tan's actions at interview will support them. THAT is what the CO will be looking for.
