They took Haydar's passport when we went to the interview. My parents seem to think that means that the 2-4weeks that the CO said could be true. Is it a good sign?

It is, generally, a good sign! From what I've seen here on VJ, when a CO keeps the passport it means that they will be able to make a decision in a couple of weeks.
