I received a notice regarding our AOS. It is an interview notice.. interview is to be held on July 23rd.

On the top of the notice it states- request for applicant to appear for initial interview

What does this mean??? how many interviews are there?

also-- the letter listed things to bring to the interview

We already submitted Medical examination (Form I-693) and our Affidavit of support with the AOS ... do we have to take another one now?

please advise

You will have to take all the docs you sent in with your application and also evidence of bonafide relationship

The surgeon's office should have given you a duplicate of the I-693 when they filled one out for you. Also do you have a copy of I-864 that you filled along with the tax papers, pay stubs etc. You will need to take them with you...

All the best

They always write initial interview in case they need to do more. It's a way for them to play it safe with the wording.

If they decide that they have enough evidence at the initial interview you probably won't need to go back until you remove the conditions. It's a classic question, you can search for it in the forum.

And if you read more carefully, it's mentioned on the notice that you should bring the medical and affidavit of support unless already submitted So if you already sent them they are not necessary.

However if you have any up to date information don't hesitate to bring them with you. I plan to bring an up to date affidavit of support personnaly because I'd rather have too much than not enough.

Hi Neel

In response to your earlier question about tax returns:

I did not take along a new Affidavit of Support but I did take a copy of my husbands most recent (2007) tax return - and it was asked for at the interview.

Make sure you take photos too - and originals and good copies of all the supporting documents sent in with your AOS application.

Good luck!
