Just start new job

Hi everyone,

I started my new job just over 2 months ago. Prior to the new job I was working with my cousin for about 7 months and was getting paid cash. I put money into my bank account everytime I got paid and paid bills. I was collecting unemployment previous to working with my cousin for about 5 months.

I guess my question is, are there any stipulations on how long I have to be employed with the same company for any certain amount of time? Or will it have an effect on my K3 case because I just started a steady paying job? I heard that I need to have a steady job for at least 2 years to do the I134 form for my wife. If so, can I have someone do the sponsor for my wife? Do they have to be my relative or family members? Or can it be her relatives? Thanks

Boon

Yes you can use a joint sponsor, you will still provide an I-134 as primary sponsor, and a friend or relitive will also provide an I-134 as co-sponsor.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

I keep reading a lot of things based on hearsaying that honestly do not make any sense to me. IF it is written, it exists, if it s not it doesn't.

If my husband or wife makes 100k/year starting one year ago, do you think it is the same as someone who got a 20k paycheck for the last two years?

I do not think there are any hard and fast rules. What they want to see is some indication that you can support your spouse (for how long it doesn't say, but let's say even for ever). IF you make above the poverty line, you are supposed to be able to do that (do NOT ask me how they base that assumption on.)

Now if you can document that your present income and savings is WAY above that, I see no reason why they'd refuse you a visa. This is not only what I think but also what I hope for our personal case..
