OMG RFE!!!???

Hello I filed an I-130 petition for my spouse back in October, we didnt get our receipt notice till February and now I just got an email from USCIS saying that they just sent us a RFE. I havent got it in the mail yet. dont know what it is they need since we had all the documents they might need in the package I sent, our case is at VSC. This is really a bad time to get that because im leaving on tuesday to be with my husband for two months. Anybody got an idea what it is they might need? I mean come on now, we been waiting all this time just to get a RFE!! :)

I didn't think the TSC dealt with I-130s... I thought only the California and Vermont Service Centers processed those. Someone correct me if I am wrong....

You're not wrong. The OP just needs to update their profile to show where the petition is actually being processed.

Unfortunately, there's no way to know and no sense in speculating what the RFE is for. It's also unfortunate you're leaving the country before you see it and deal with it. Hopefully you have somebody at home with access to assist you in your response because the RFE will come with a time limit to respond.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

Wouldn't it be useful to try calling VSC via the RFE-line?

I know that the chance is real big VSC will respond "wait until you receive the letter", as other people have posted in previous threads. But maybe in this particular circumstance that the petitioner will be on vacation abroad for a while and wants to get this solved before he leaves, the Service Center might give some more info.

Pushbrk, you think it could hurt to try?
