What kind of evidence are needed to file for AOS?

In about a few months when my fiancée enters the US and marries me, I will have to file for AOS. Since the embassy usually requests to see a lot of evidence for our relationship, I wonder what kind of evidence other than the marriage certificate I will have to provide with the application.

For AOS, evidence for relationship is not required at the time of filing. (Though Marriage certificate is needed, of course!) At the interview later, people bring such evidence with them.

Basically, you need to provide evidence (usually during your interview, but some will have to be submitted with the AOS form) that answers the following:

--did you get married?

--are you sharing a domicile (living in the same place)?

--is your marriage bonafide-- ie are you starting to merge your lives together?

There are lots of threads in the AOS forum that talk about evidence that other couples have submitted -- I'd do a search of them and start making a list of things that you will want to start to collect once you are here in the US.

i had my now wife apply for a state ID with our home address. sent a copy of it with the application.

We just sent in our marriage cert., some pictures, phone bills, and anything else that happened between entrance to the US and our AOS filing.....some pictures around town was pretty much it. There really isn't a lot you can get done till after AOS approved. So, they aren't looking for all that.

This is the easy part. Deep breath!
