Some may have seen this already, but my wife and I will be filing our N-400 in 9 days. For once, it seems living in a sparsely populated state (Montana) works in our favor. This updated .pdf says Helena MT is taking 5.0 months to process applications for naturalization.

Thank You, I knew it was on the USCIS websit but I could not find it. The processing times for the a local office shows this numbers which is about double than the PFF file. I bet alot people did not know the true processing times, thanks for all the information.

Take the official processing times with a grain of salt...in almost 5 years of immigration not one time they actually corresponded to the truth, at least in my personal experience. As a matter of fact, in your list Baltimore states 14 months...I filed last year in july and despite being one of those disgraced files caught up in the monester backlog it took less than that to complete everything (see my timeline in my siggy). I also just checked on the uscis website and as of april 15th it said they were working on may 7th 2007...once again not true, I received my interview letter at the end of march, someone who filed the same day I did had their interview a month before me in Baltimore.

I have no idea why they post wrong dates, but as I said they rarely are reliable.

Good luck to you for a speedy process though! Chances are your office takes way less than those 5 months claimed anyway :star:

Well, it looks like your USCIS center reported time is 14 months, but yours took only 10 months.

So if my USCIS center has a reported time of 5 months, we should have ours done in 4...or something to that effect.

Not necessarily.

My center's reported time seems to be more accurate.

My point being, of all the USCIS service centers, Helena MT has to lowest reporting time. Either way you cut it, early or on time, we should have it al done with by years end.

Like I said, for once, living in Montana pays off!

Congress really push Emilio to process N-400's last year in time for the November elections, will that happen again this year? First it was 3 million applications, than, 1.5 million, but believe the final count was more like 600,000. Those increased applications were contributed because the rates drastically increased last July, but shouldn't see that this year because there on no sales on N-400's this year.

Wife and I received an invitation to our senators fund raising campaign, will contribute a couple of bucks, meet the senator and see if he wants one more vote this year from my wife. But if not, no big deal, we are set for the next five years, that I-751 really drove me nuts with trying to explain to other government agencies why my wife's green card was expired.

Ha, what does Montana have in common with Wisconsin? This!

Nebraska Service Center

PO Box 87400

Lincoln, NE 68501-7400

As I stated before in our last visit to our local field office, only my wife was there, then me after I found a place to park with armed guards and officers standing around, doing nothing. It's Nebraska that has the hang ups with that required 1/4" of dust build up on our applications before they send them to the local field offices. So I wouldn't hold my breathe. Field offices can't process N-400's until they have them in their hands.

I had worried about the whole Nebraska issue as well, and I do agree the illegals rushing in before the vote is a problem as well. But all things considered, it could be worse.
