Which consulate are we talking about?

When asking questions it helps everyone if you would take the time to fill in profile details and do a timeline.

Details: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...rCP&CODE=01 (Country, Filed for, ....) N/A just does not help.

:time:http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?id=49063

Some consulates only want DS-230 part 1, and (OF-169 or DS-2001) sent to them first, and you bring the DS-156 to the consulate for interview.

Again fill in your details.

You fill out the forms online, print out two copies and stick your passport photos on each of them and then take them to the interview with you.

That's what I did. Good luck!!

Cheers!!! :star:

Hi Everyone,

I was just wondering if my fiancee needs to attach a photograph in the designated area of the DS-156 form prior to sending the packet back in, or if the picture is brought to the interview and attached at that time. Thanks for your feedback.

Some embassies have different procedures.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!

Correct, eventually the OP gives us this info in a later post, OP is dealing with Germany. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...=128131&hl=

What forms should be send back to the Consulate?

As described in Form DSL-1076:

- a photocopy of each page of your passport

- one passport style picture (attached to Form DS 156)

- Form DSL-1076: visa instructions for fiance(e) nonimmigrant visa applicants (checklist)

- Form DS 230 part 1

- Form DS 156 (needs one passport photo attached)

- Form DS 157

- Form DS 156k (the checklist says to return this one as well however it needs to be signed in front of a consular officer)

The checklist form is actually misleading at the bottom of Form DSL 1076 it says: You should bring all of the above pertinent documents and the application forms with you to the interview; thus you should send back the checklist and DS 230 as everything else is an application form or a document.
