What I would do would depend on if I was a tenant or if it was my home (that I pay a mortgage on). I must be thick but I can't discern this from your post.

very true. i'm assuming shes the homeowner from the original posts, as a tenant she would have no obligation to fix it.

In that case, I'd definitely be talking to the neighbor about paying to fix it. Its obvious that YOU are not driving over it, as you do not park on that part of the lawn. I'm a cheapo so there is no way I'd be paying for someone else's negligence.

If they won't agree to fix it with you nicely talking to them, I would take a photo of the damage, a photo of where he parks (the next time his car is there) and call the police. Damaging someone else's property IS a crime, even if its inadvertant damage, and if you've tried to resolve it yourself but they wouldn't agree, you need someone else to intervene on your behalf.
