Hello everyone... anyone could help me ... when i was in my port of entry in Los Angeles the immigration officer got all my pocket he dont give it back to me... he have my original birth certificate and all information in brown pocket ...pls help me .... want to ask if thats the process ... thank you

Yes, they keep the sealed envelope from the consulate. I don't know the process for the PI, but I don't know why you birth cert would be in it? We showed my husbands at the interview, but only a copy that we submitted was kept.

Right, you deliver the packet to the officer at POE and they keep it. They keep everything you submit in connection with your case. A copy of your birth certificate would have been fine. Now it's gone. You might try to trade a copy for it at your AOS interview. It might work.

The good news is you can now order a certified copy of your birth certificate from the NCSO using their online order site. We've successfully done this for myself and my son. It probably takes only a couple of weeks for it to get to you.
