I'm latino, I was illegal, have a college degree, have an awesome job and earn a very good salary, have a great family and I'm not in a gang. I also know a lot of people who took advantage of the Amnesty back in the '80s and are doing just as well as I am, if not better.

It's not fair to stereotype and it's not fair to say that these people are like this because their illegal and latinos. It's like it's beyond my comprehension on how people thinkg people from the Middle East only come here to terrorize. It's a ridiculous argument since it's not true at all. Not all people are the same.

By the way, I send my love to all the Middle Eastern countries, great food, great music and great people. ;)

I can't remember the statistics on this one. Something about how a small percentage of americans make a majority of the money in the US. Anyone know the numbers?

This is what makes them happy, keeping those of us who are not wealthy fighting over the scraps they throw down to us. As long as we keep fighting each other nothing real ever happens. It's all about the art of distraction.

You are right and wrong there. Yes I too believe the wealthy are under taxed and getting a free ride in America.

The issue for poor Americans is the lack of opportunity to get to the next step. You need to get to step A before you get to step D. Step A could be in the form of a low skilled job. Unfortunately millions of these jobs have been filled by illegal immigrants. I had 3 jobs to get through college. I know if I lived here I would never have made it considering both how little they pay as well as the lack of jobs since illegal immigrants are taking them more nothing. Hence how little they are willing to pay.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

I also like the shifty diversion tactics. Where the same cliches are thrown out like apparently being against brown people, or being against humans or being NAZI's etc etc..

And neither is giving people the option to receive funding in exchange for national service (Marxism involves very different methods of treating socioeconomics, not running a government or a nation beyond socioeconomics). I mean, we already do it to a limited scale with some professions and it works well enough to shift into the big time.

It is not Marxism. Marxism is a failed concept. If you are talking about a hybrid socialistic / capitalistic system; then we can talk. But the catch 22 is the socialistic governments are incompatible with a US style constitution. Socialism is about the community. The Constitution is about individualism.

That's why I mention Marxism as a particular concept in socioeconomics and not politics.

As for merging some kind of socialistic, liberal, national type of economic policy into an improved capitalistic system, like MOST socialist governments do these days, and like most capitalist nations that have a healthy, happy population of citizens and immigrants, then we'd be onto some kind of discussion that is different than the scope of this thread.

The concepts that Obama endorses fit well in the framework of the US Constitution as a form of politics, government, since they are legislative and philosophical arguments based on the improvement of all within the nation we currently have- not destroying an entire way of living and being governed.

Again, those are arguments best diverted to another thread.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

Hence how little they are willing to pay.

I have no idea where you live but I can honestly tell you that this is not true in Denver, in Las Vegas, LA nor NY because that's where I've lived in the States and never saw that. For example right now, the store where my husband works is desperate to hire people because they're up to their necks with work and the only ones who've applied are illegals. US citizens and legal residents don't even apply. The jobs are on the internet, the newspaper and they have a big banner saying WE'RE HIRING with big, red, bold letters and nobody but illegals have applied. This is true. I wish it wasn't but it is.

Same when we lived in Vegas, the place that I worked at always needed people and only the illegals would apply. My boss, who was the doctor and owner thought it was hilarious. The jobs at the casinos are mainly for legals since the Culinary Union gets involved, so if you're legal there, you'll find work for sure.

In summary, in all 22 years that I've been here, and all the years that I've been in the workforce, I haven't seen a US citizen or legal resident being denied employment. Never ever. I wish I could back up your argument but I simply can't, I've never seen what you say you have seen.

don't feel that way at all ... just enjoying the "pearls of wisdom" being bestowed on the common folk

Enjoy them all you want since you have brought the pen to write the wise words in your notebook.

Besides, like its been stated plainly, the common folk here are the ones doing the defending from senseless, snide, and dehumanizing language that lends credence to very stupid expressions that fail to resolve the problem from any point of view.

this thread will resolve the problem ...

Exactly. One snide remark after another. But for the record we have:

Members who make discussion about what they have opinions in, and then we have members that do not.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

Sister Diana,

Next time you post another comment like that, I'll brand you as an un-patriotic american, (you are a US citizen right?) strip you from your nationality and call ICE on you! I'm sick of all these funny looking foreigners trying to steal our country! Billy Booob! bring the gaad dang shotgun! and call the sheriff, it's time to take back our country gaaad darnnn it! and bring ma' shutgun do not forget boyyyy!

Betty Sue, get outta the trailer! We have an important business in our hands, these darn Mexiceeens are stealing our jobs and taking our welfare away!

That is quite stupid to say in such a diverse nation such as the US.

But hey you are right. These are good honest people.

Here is a good example of the outcome of the last Amnesty:

Yeah that's OK Diana. There are those of us that support Obama that would also vote for Hillary in the near-impossible case she were nominated. But that's OTT.

You're right, I'm getting ready to vote for Obama as well if Hilary steps down. I was all for girl power. But man, I think it would be a wish come true if we had them as a team against the Republicans.

Oh yeah, and world peace too.
