But Diana... don't you appreciate the really humanitarian ideas some posters have said on this thread? Like "slice them thin and use them to pave the streets"? Nobody gives a hoot about undocumented folks. You should know better, you sexy wetback you :bonk:

Honestly, how different do you think you sound from the Nazi Germans? You feel like a true patriot? The worst thing of all is that THIS forum is focused on marriages between people from two different nations. If we find this kind of thinking in this forum, we are doomed as a society and as a human race. Travel not just to find a wife! but to open your mind, and learn to accept other people that look, behave and live in a different way.

And please somebody explain me the reasons why Arizona wants to bring farm workers from Mexico because maybe there is a hidden meaning or something.

Tavo, Tavo. Tranquiqui hermano. I was being ironic bro. I agree with your statement -- I think most of the hatred towards undocumented people can be sometimes comparable to that of nazi sympathizers, specially with "let's kill'em all b@stards" comments like the one I replied to (about paving the streets with them).

So there :P Love you hermano :luv:

Not entirely true. I saw a news bit last night where the US is trying to make visa deals with Mexico to bring back workers to work in the fields because guess what? Legal residents and US citizens don't want to do those kinds of jobs. They're having to raise their prices because field workers are hard to come by these days.

You are wrong. What is the problem is that certain employers have become comfortable paying their employees little or nothing. If they, like everyone else, is forced to pay a living wage, medical, retirement etc then Americans will work those jobs. Our responsibility lies to feeding poor America and certainly not to Colombians or anyone else.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

She or the news source that disagrees with your argument (which is a different one than what she is bringing up)?

Yes, salary and wage should be contingent on the position, not the legal status of an employee, and yes, vacancies should be filled by the most qualified candidate.

As for "Our responsibility lies to feeding poor America"... the sound of it is most assuredly not a right wing conservative ideal.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

How much an hour do you want to be paid for landscaping? It isn't rocket science and this type of work kids would do for not much money too.

$12 at least.

Actually these are the types of jobs that illegal immigrants have taken from kids.

In all fairness I think Tavo was referring to the original, dehumanized (albeit typically snide more than anything) remark.

Buaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah :crying: I feel unloved :crying:

Reggae for you sister Len.

Really? $12 an hour when minimum wage is much less? Maybe its not as much illegals taking a job for less than minimum wage from a kid willing to make minimum wage but rather the company that prefers to break the law.

I guess those white reporters are being biased as well huh? News flash!! people don't want to work on these kinds of JOBS! Do you really think this country would be better off w/o the undocumented immigrants? Arizona was one of the first states to start massive raids. Helloooo sunshine, now they are the ones interested on a guest-worker program focusing on bringing all those, who on the first place, they deported. Are we swimming in circles or something?

Of course they are interested in a guest worker program. They want to pay someone from overseas $6 and hour rather than pay an American a decent wage. Are these the same people who cry when we import food cheaper from overseas and demand subsidies. Truly this country has become an each to their own deal rather than what is in the best interest of this nation.

The country has millions and millions living in poverty. The economy has turned to #### with pretty much every industry suffering or about to suffer and you expect me to believe they would not be able to find workers if they paid them a decent wage. BS!! Utter BS!!

$12 an hour??? Are you a professional landscaper??? because if you have a diploma, experience, associates or something like that, this rate is well deserved. I've worked legally in this country since I arrived and at the beginning never earned that much, and I'm taking about jobs in the University, you just want to cut grass. You are a dreamer pal.

They'd rather pay anyone, legal or illegal, less than minimum. But that is another issue.

Feeding them means giving them the opportunity.
