My husband was wanting to know if he could go ahead and get the vaccines he will need for the medical exam. Does anyone know if its okay for him to go ahead and get them now or should he wait for the medicial? I know some of the required vaccines he wont need, but the others, such as Hep B & Tetanus he could go ahead and get?

Feb 2005: We met

April 2005: Began dating

Dec 16 2006: We got married in Texas

Sept 6 2007: Mailed I-130 to TSC

Sept 10 2007: TSC receives I-130

Dec 28 2007: I-130 NOA1 mailed

Dec 31 2007: Received I-130 NOA1

Feb 24 2008: Put into system case now at VSC

April 29 2008: Touch

April 29, 2008: Approved - Case Status Online message of approval

April 30, 2008: Last updated date & message changed. Still approval message, but a different one

May 01, 2008: NVC Received & Case Number Assigned

May 12, 2008: DS-3032 & AOS Bill Generated

May 17, 2008: DS-3032 emailed to NVC

May 27, 2008: DS-3032 received by NVC

April 24, 2009: Interview at London Embassy - APPROVED!!!!!!

May 05, 2009: Received Visa (IR-1)

I would say go and get them and them bring documentation that he got them to the immigration medical exam. He will need them anyway and this way you wouldn't be delayed because he didn't have them.

This is just my opinion, I have no reason to believe that you can't do this.

My fiance already has all the immunization shots etc but she still must see the doctor. It will still cost her quite a bit of money also. I would say don't rely on guesses but call the doctor and find out ( The Swiss embassy provided a list of doctors and phone numbers). My motto, if she will have to pay the same amount anyway, make it worth it - get the shots at the doctor. However, if it will save you money to get them at your doctor, then do that. Either way, call the doctor and find out the truth. If you are still waiting to hear back from the NVC then call the embassy and ask them for the packet early. That is what we did. They won't give it until you have been approved on the U.S. side. Once it is approved, call the embassy and they will send the packet(which should have the list of doctors), that should save you a bit of time. Hope that helps...

When you say "approved on the US side" do you mean by USCIS? If so I think we should try to get our medical packet early. We would like to find out if my wife needs any of the vaccinations yet. We have that list from the NVC website but it would be good to get the ball rolling on it as some vaccinations can take several visits over a period of time. Though I don't know if that is true for these vaccines, or even for adults, I just know that can occur with kids.
