We got our NOA2 in the mail today. The receipt date is now Dec 28, 2007 (which is when we got our NOA1) and there is now a priority date: September 10, 2007 (which was the day the TSC received our I-130). Question is: what is the priority date for? Just curious.

I called the NVC today for the first time, to my surprise they already had a case number for us, I figured it would be a few more weeks before they received let alone assigned us a case number.

Since they have a case number assigned to us now, can we go ahead and mail in the DS-3032 or do we have to wait for something else to happen?

Your petition is now approved (NOA2) by the USCIS. Approved CR1 petitions will be forwarded by USCIS to National VIsa Center (NVC).

It takes about two to four weeks before NVC receive your approved petition. Once received, NVC will assign your case a new NVC case number and will send you instructions on how to move forward.

I suggest reading the guides in the NVC forum.

As I stated in my original post, the NVC received our petition and assigned us our case number (LNDXXXXXXXXXX) on May 1, 2008. We got the approval (NOA2) on April 29, 2008. They (NVC) had our approved petition and assigned a case number before we even got the hard copy of the NOA2 in the mail. I called using our CIS receipt number (EACXXXXXXXXXX) and learned they had our petition and a case number assigned already. But thanks anyhow for the information
