I've heard from a couple different people lately that have gone in for their AOS interview and were asked to provide a medical form (completed by the civil surgeon) as it's been over one year since the previous medical exam. They had sent in a copy of the vaccinations, but that's not enough I guess.

05.04.2008 - Package recieved in Chicago.

05.09.2008 – Received NOA's.

07.25.08 - Work Permission Received in Mail

07.28.08 - Applied for Social Security Number

08.04.08 - Received Social Security Number in Mail

09.29.08 - Started job

WOOHOOO!!! Happy to report that my EAD was ordered yesterday! Life is good again!

Congrats again to others as well!

Now, I am wondering if I need to get a different SSN, even though I am on an H1B and can work. Any thoughts?

Also, my current passport is in my maiden name, although all my AOS paperwork is in my married name. I am wondering if at the AOS interview, it would look unfavorable that I did not change my maiden name to married name on the passport. Is travel an issue so long as I carry the marriage certificate forms etc.

I would like to change my name on the passport as well but it is hard to predict the processing times of my home country consulate to process our paperwork, the time, pace and service is POOR!!! so I am afraid of sending my passport in incase I get called for the AOS interview. Although who knows when that woulld be?!

Sorry for such a long post..

5/22/08: Sent AOS to Chicago Lockbox

5/28/08: USCIS acknowledged reciept of AOS.

6/21/08: Biometrics in MN

6/23:08 Touch on all

8/5/08: AP Approval

8/5/08: EAD production ordered

My case is at the NBC/MSC

Hi there Jeaay, congrats on the approval. I'm a little confuse coz I noticed that your cased was never transferred to California Service Center, and yet you got approved without the interview. What i usually encountered here in VJ are only cases which were transferred to CSC got an approval without the interview. Did you ever received a transfer notice before your case was approved?

Congrats again!!!

Hmm how late do they do transfers? Aside from EADs it's been pretty slow for May filers.

Hmm, as far as I have noticed with most of the transfers... cases are usually transferred less than two months from the day the case is submitted. For May filers, it has been almost three months already. I noticed some from May filers were already transferred... and I'm thinking that since my AOS is still at NBC, the probabilty of it being transferred is getting slim since it's more than two months already... :(
