Will I need copies of all my I 129 and I 130 forms? I have the originals, do I need to make copies of everything?

Mel (the USC) has a son that he has shared custody of- will he need to bring all the divorce settlement papers or just the Divorce Certificate? Will he also need to bring his sons Birth Certificate?

All documentation establishing your eligibility for lawful permanent residence. I assume this is my K3 Visa?

I made sure I had one original and one copy of every single piece of paperwork. What if they want something? You don't want to give away your only existing copy! Better safe than sorry, I always say.

Establishing your eligibility for permanent residence includes your passport, I-94 in passport and the visa. Also relationship proof, like the joint bank account, insurance, etc., all proving a true marriage.

I don't know about your stepson but I would say bring all paperwork just in case. So if your husband has all the divorce settlement papers and birth certificate, go ahead and bring them. Probably they will not be needed but you will have peace of mind knowing you have absolutely everything with you.

Good luck for a speedy approval!

Our lawyer wanted copies of all divorce certificates etc. Bring everything possible. I had file folders labled:

Bank

Mail (which was insurance and stuff that came to our home in my husband's (USC) name to prove we lived together Leases -

Pictures, Letters & Cards

USCIS Paperwork

Bills (I included detailed bills showing we called each other daily from each others cell)

Certificates (Birth, Marriage, Divorce, Passports)

Hope this helps. When we went all he wanted was a copy of a bank statement and lease....but we had it ready...just in case

Awesome Thank you so much ELW and tsgal. It won't hurt to bring everything and make copies of everything.

At least Mel has all his divorce stuff info here at home- I have had the interview letter for a long time and kept telling him to go over the checklist, but him being him, he has to wait until last minute on everything. Makes me so mad!

 My hubby was lucky, I just went ahead and got everything together weeks ahead of time. All he had to do was sit on his manly throne and enjoy the show.
