Tourist Visa while waiting for K-1

I tried to see if this has been posted before but couldn't find it. Please forgive me if it has been discussed before. It has been 5 months since my fiance and I have seen each other. I sent the I-129F in April and had it returned this week to send to a different address and to send a money order instead of a check. So Nebraska will receive it today and we start all over.

My question is what are the chances of my fiance being able to get a tourist visa to come to the US in the time we are waiting for the K-1 to get approved? Has anyone else done this? Can it complicate or slow down or worse, cause for a rejection of the K-1?

I would love to go to Morocco to see him but the airfare for the summer is very high, unless someone knows of a way to get cheap airfare, my daughter would have to come with me so that's double the airfare, and I'm moving at the end of this month and am in a court battle with my ex over visitation of my daughter-it's not a good time for me to be leaving out of the country-as much as I would like to just pack up and leave all of this behind to be with my fiance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't stand the thought of waiting another 4-5 months, or longer, to see him again. I would love it if he could get a tourist visa and come here for a while.

Honestly, I think your fiance will have a hard time getting a tourist visa as a Moroccan with a K1 pending. And it would probably end up being more hassle than it's worth.

I'd plan to go to Morocco if I were you. I'll let you know if I come across any good flight deals!

Brenda, chances are slim he'd get the tourist visa and even if he did, there's every chance they'd turn him away at the Port of Entry and send him back to Morocco :( Of course, this would be a huge expense lost and everyone p.o.'d... so if you don't already have one, invest in a cam, see each other online everyday and maybe you can squeeze a little trip in to Morocco if you can find a good fare... could your child stay w/ your family for a week? summer camp? anything?

Good luck.... it's a challenging road, but you will survive and it will be worth the journey in the end!

For single men from the ME, getting a tourist visa is uber uber uber hard. They have to prove that they have substantial ties to their home country and have a ton of money in the bank. If he's planning on immigrating to the US, it would be very difficult to prove that he is tied to Morocco.

Being seperated is tough, but it's one of the side effects of loving someone from overseas. The longest my husband and I went without seeing each other was 18 months. It's not the best thing in the world, but it's do-able, and when you reunited, it's sweeter :luv:

My husband tried for a toursit visa back in 9/03 so we could meet. He was denied because he failed to show enough ties to Morocco to be sure he would return. Unless your fiance can prove this and you have the money to lose, if he fails, I wouldn't suggest it. But should you try, best of Luck!!!!

Ditto what everyone else said... It would be very difficult for your fiance to get a visa to come visit if he's young and single, especially since you have a pending application.

I hope you can figure out a way to get to Morocco to see him. I know it's really expensive and it's really hard to be apart for so long :(
