My hubby and I are planning a 3 day weekend in Paris later this month or next...while I'm over there visiting. But with this expensive process, I'm a bit worried about finances. So do any of you have suggestions for reasonable places to stay and eat in Paris? Of course...if it meets my hubby's champagne tastes on our beer budget...all the better. LOL. Oh...and besides the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triumph, and the tunnel where Princess Di died (and that's my agenda item not my Brit hubby)...any other must see places?

Palace of Versailles is worth a look. And the Louvre, if you don't mind getting up literally at the crack of dawn.

You can get some pretty good deals via expedia. I went there in 2002, booked a 3 day trip via Eurostar - came to about 250quid for two people. That was through a Flight Center in London. Prices have probably crept up a little since then.

Stay in the suburbs and take the train in.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Well my hubby and I were in Paris recently...

We stayed with my sister.

I know those Hotels compagny like formule 1 who are pretty reasonnable.

Before 2 years ago we stayed im Montparnasse at a comfort inn I do not remember the address rate was pretty good.

For what about eating in Paris it s pretty expensive...

Try as much as you can to not eat next to the tourists site... as it can be pricy...

You will find little cafes, restaurants in some random streets far from the tourists site and then will get good prices...

Also always stop by a little grocery store to get munchies and water... As you can pay a lot of money for just a little bottle of water like 3.50 euros just a little bottle.

Metro is pretty good to get around... Do not wear pretty shoes in the metro as people will walk on your feet so the metro can be packed... 2 years ago I wear those nice white shoes 2 days after they were cover by the footprints of other.

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

There's a bus tour (sorry I'll have to get you the name later) but it stops at all the major attractions of Paris around the city. It's a double decker lime green bus. Very affordable. I agree with the Louvre but you will need at least 2 days to see the entire museum or 1 day just to see the Mona Lisa and Venus De Mila. :) Definitely take the train to the Palace of Versailles and don't be intimidated by asking directions. You may come across a few french people with attitude but don't give up, there are nice people who speak some english willing to help tourist. I'll try and get you the information before your trip. Have fun!!! P.S The only way to see the tunnel where Princess Di died is via taxi. And they don't really highlight as a tourist attraction....we had to ask our driver. It's right across the Eiffel Tower. Very sad.

Well if you are a Jim Morrison or Doors fan - then Pere la Chaise Cimetiere, l'Arc de Triomphe, Le Tuileries, Musee d'Orsay, Notre-Dame, Versailles and Notre Dame de Chartres (Chartres is about a 3 hour drive from Paris).

Paul and I met on the Bazaar on the 14th January (he joined my progressive rock forum that day)

July 3rd he flew to England to meet me

We fell in love while he drove all over the place coz I cannot read maps (we were supposed to go to Ingleton - but touched Darlington 4 times, Pierce Bridge 6 times, Scotch Corner twice and Bernard Castle twice and we never did make it to Ingleton)

It has been so long and so much has happened in between...

Arrived in Houston on October 29th 2006

Married 17th November 2006

Lost my father 8th January 2007 (all dates are a blur after this)

Conditional Green Card dated 24th October 2007
