A couple of weeks ago I was listening to a program on a Colombian radio station where the guests included COs from the US and Australian embassies. The US CO said that they were fair when it came to tourist visas and that he encouraged people whose visas were denied to re-apply. Now, at $100 a pop, how many times can these people re-apply... really?

I thought he was full of BS and said whatever he had to say to sound "generous".

Funny. I had a tourist visa to the US since I was 8 years old. Just kep renewing, never one problem. Same goes for all my family members.

If I recall from one of your previous post, your family is "well to do" and have/had strong ties to your country of origin? Am I mistaken?

Right on both counts my friend. Indeed, that always allowed us to travel. Why? Should I apologize for having a nice life? Think not.

I think he (or she; I'm sorry if I got it wrong) is merely saying that you might have had advantages some others didn't have access to, that's all. I don't see the problem in that, though. You certainly shouldn't apologize for it. I'm sure there are others who have advantages you don't. Are they supposed to feel sorry for those too? We all use what we have to the best of our ability. No shame in that.

Oh I know DeadPool  and indeed some folks have it either real hard or real easy (or easier) . Yet I can only talk about MY experience, which was: never had one iota of problems getting in and out of the US and many other countries. So I perhaps took Ting's post in the wrong way. Whichever the case, I have no axe to grind. If others do or have a problem, well, that's their issue, not mine.

Peace, L.

No, no PMS. Just making the point that I, as a Mexican citizen, have never encountered problems when crossing borders Ting. But if saying "christ, PMS?" makes you feel better, go right ahead. More power to you.
