The Loonie Rose to 90.38 cents and it's highest level since 1978.

The Canadian dollar hit an all time high on April 25, 1974 against the Greenback at $1.04.

wouldn't you know the Canadian $ would start rising as soon as I move to the US.....here I was hoping to pay all my Canadian Debt back with those big USDs I will be earning here......oh well :unsure:

Dec 20, 5 emails saying they ordered production of my new card......

Dec 24...welcome to America letter in the snail mail

Dec 26...GC in hand and all is correct...

Thank god! Please keep it rising!!!! i think the gas prices affect our dollar. seems when gas prices go up so does the dollar cause our country is full of 'natural resources.' Or i'm out to lunch

I read this in an article. When the US economy starts to decline, the Cdn dollar starts going up. If it keeps shooting for the stars, I may end up sponsoring my husband to become a resident of Canada!

Before the Canucks start celebrating too much, while the CAD is doing just fine, it is not performing any wonders. Your Canadian Dollar is not performing great against anything but the US Dollar and any currency that happens to be pegged to it. You CAD is behaving fairly normal against the Pound Sterling, the Euro and even the Yen. What you're really seeing is the USD heading down the crapper yet again. No wonder looking at the "borrow and spend like there's no tomorrow" policies of this "conservative" government of ours. ;)

Might just get me off my ### to look at cashing out my RRSP'S!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Well it isn't everyday you can go over to Europe to do some shopping. It's still good news that the CAD is going up at the expense of the USD going down. There's a big difference if your a neighboring country and especially for moving there. All the money you saved doesn't get as chewed up when converted. That's why I'm happy.

No doubt. All I am saying is that the Canadian Dollar is not at an all time high. The US Dollar is just going to #######. Doesn't make a difference to you. I can see that. The fact still remains, though. ;)
