Hello! My fiance is about to buy his plane ticket to come with his K1 visa. He is going to fly through JFK so hopefully he can get the work authorization stamp. Who does he ask to get the stamp? Is it just when he's going through customs?

Also, his layover is 2 hours. We were wondering, do you think that's enough time? Does he have to do anything special that might take longer than that? He's getting on to a connecting flight that will take him to Portland.

Thanks so much!!

Have a great day :)

I was told on here 2 hours minimum, 3 hours to be comfortable.

He asks for the stamp as they are processing his brown envelope of paperwork at Customs & Immigration.

The length of time to go through the POE depends on time of day/how many others have paperwork to process at the same time/how many flights come in at the same time as your fiance. 2 to 3 hours layover seems to be a good amount of time to take care of things and get to the next gate.
