Yeah - some people have deep-seated issues that can't be solved by buying loads of expensive gadgets and bragging about them.

If you're talking about me, I don't buy loads of expensive gadgets and I don't have any "deep-seated issues".

I must be behind the times - I had no idea that playpens were "verboten" now.

A lot of this stuff is really ridiculous. And it's not even "I'm getting this overpriced thing because it will benefit my baby", but "I'm getting this overpriced, unnecessary thing because if I don't, everyone will think I'm a bad parent." It's all just like grownup peer pressure, IMO.

Yeah, it's dumb. I post on some baby forums and some of the things I read boggle my mind. They all get certain things because everyone has them, and spend wayyyy too much IMO on baby things and furniture for the baby's room and have to have the top brand for every item. And they probably can't afford it, which means credit cards!! It drives me crazy sometimes. But I personally would stick my tongue out to it than feel bad that I am not buying it. I already tell Kavi he isn't getting all the latest craze items.

No kidding, when I was a kid, we didn't have helmets to ride our bikes, we ate paste, drank each other's drinks and shared food. I am surprised we all made it through these hard times.

Really, platy. Maybe you should also think about rephrasing your posts as well or keep it to yourself. They are pretty insulting. And doesn't Mags already have a child? Does he hear your disdain for kids? I hope not. I feel like I have had the kids conversation with you before in another thread and it turned out you hated bad parents and not kids. So which is it? Do you just spout something in the heat of the moment or do you really honestly feel that way? Calling a kid a **** trophy is extremely rude.
