So it seems that all of the Service Centers are behind in processing the I-751...so does that mean that everyone that is applying now will get a one year waiver?

I have to apply for my husband's in May 2008 to the Nebraska Service Center....we are planning a trip for August 2008 to Europe....so with the USCIS being so behind, it seems that they will have to give everyone extensions for 1 year until they finish the processing???

any insight would be helpful....

thanks.

It is standard that your receipt (NOA) will include the phrase that your status is extended for one year, and is good for travel and employment purposes. Every applicant should receive one - eventually! Good luck.

concurring with the previous post...after you submit the I-751 you will get a receipt in the mail, which is also the one-year extension to live and work in the US.

if you plan on traveling with an expired green card i strongly suggest you travel with the original receipt and not a copy. re-entering the US with a copy of the receipt is asking for trouble. keep a copy at home.

best regards,

robbie
