when you receive the Notice of action, track your case on the uscis website. It may show up, it may not (must be patient) but that's the only way to track it unless you call the 1800 # or schedule an infopass appointment.

Also if you paid with a personal check and you check a scan of the cashed check on your bank's website, your case numbers are written by uscis on the back of your checks.

Next step (besides waiting for the Notice of action w/case numbers) is to wait for the biometrics appointment letter (here uscis will take your photo and your fingerprints).

You wait until you have NOA1 letter for the I-485, you then can use the recipt number to track the case on USCIS.GOV site.

Sometimes you may be able to read the number form the back of the canceled check, but in most cases it is un-readable, or the USCIS site does not have info that quickly.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.
