We paid decent money to have my Fiancee and her sons birth certificates translated. If we make copies of the originals and present the original translations with the copies at the interview will they return the original copies to us? I am asking because we will need these original copies of the translations of the birth certificates to get our marriage license, and we don't want to pay to get them translated again if we can avoid it. Any info would be appreciated.

When I went for my interview at the Montreal consulate they only kept the copy of my birth certificate and gave me the original back.

spauldingjeffery I would recommend that you post this in the Canada forum to get first hand experience from the consulate you are going to - Vancouver or Montreal, I'm sure someone there has submitted translations and they will be able to give you first hand experience.
