Me and my wife got married in the U.S. in May 2006. The I-485 AOS application for my wife's conditional green card was submitted in July/August 2006. Yesterday, I received an email from USCIS saying that our AOS application has been approved and that they will be mailing us my wife's permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days. I have 2 questions:

1.) Will my wife be receiving her conditional green card or "full" green card?

2.) If she will be receiving her conditional green card, from what I have read, there is a 2 year period before this can be changed to a "full" green card (that is, you have to wait 2 years before conditions can be removed). If that is the case, then when does this 2 year period start counting from? From when we got married? From when USCIS received my I-485 AOS application? Or from the time that USCIS issues us the conditional green card?

Any answers? Thanks in advance.

The officer who interviewed my wife and I told us that the date would be from the "Permanent Residence Since" field on the actual 551 card.

It is the date your wife became a permanent resident! Approved ! If your marriage is less than 2 yrs old from that date you will probably recieve a conditional card. But im no lawyer. But from my wife case we were married for over 2yr when she finally became a permanent resident and she recieved a 10 yr card. The date will be on the Welcome to america letter and it will say which card she will recieve.

she will probably get the conditional green card cause you werent married for 2 years or more when they approved it!

the green card will have an expiration date on it, 90 before that date you have to lift conditions and file I-751(?).
