Would you pay $37,200 for a 4-bedroom hotel suite overlooking the Mediterranean?

I totally agree with this, and aside from making some college kid(etc etc) very happy and educated, imagine the feeling you could carry with you knowing you helped make that happen. MUCH better than one great night in a hotel!:)

I don't know about that. Lots of college-age kids are total a$$holes. And besides, who are you spending the night WITH? Lots of variables here, as you can see :P

There are tons of kids who won't be able to go to college for $$$ reasons.

It doesn't have to be a college tuition tho...it could pay for a single mother's daycare bill...so she can support herself, or a uninsured person's medical bills, or a place to live for a homeless person, or a new life for a battered spouse...God, there are so many good things I could do with $40k....none of which being blowing it on a night in some pretentious hotel.

And the best thing of all, is it's like a pay it forward thing....the good just keeps rippling...

I can see living a LITTLE, but that's living a LOT!!!!! ;) Seriously, we usually go to maybe 75-80.00 a night hotels when we stay in one..for us a couple hundred dollar place would be PLUSH!!! and we'd feel like we were livin' large! It's all relative I suppose! :) m.

I guess location has a lot to do with the pricing for that hotel: some of those other suites seemed so much nicer (private gym and your own private pool as opposed to just your own jacuzzi terrace). If I had the dough to spend on it... I might. It seriously offends my cheap-bone but it very very much appeals to my "oh thats soooo nice" bone. :P
