i live with my aunt right now here in california.. we passed the interview march 4, 2008 so now were waiting for his visa... (were praying it comes soon) i just need suggestions... should we still live with my aunt (but of course were paying rent) or should we move to like a small apartment.. cuz this is what we were thinking... he has to apply for for SSN, drivers license..... and i have to renew my name in my SSN adn driver license... so on important IDs like those... were thinking of using my aunts address... cuz we dont actually know how long were gonna live in an apartment...

so for important IDs were gonna use my aunts address but were planning on living on our apartment.. (dont know how long though... ) will there be a discrepancy on addresses or anything??

i hope that was clear...

If you can live on your own as a couple I personnaly think it is a better start in married life than to live as a couple with your aunt....but I do not know your exact situation and it is up to you. Addresses on IDs can always been changed when you have permanent apartment

We were in the same situation.....we were selling my house and moving during AOS; but we didnt' know where. We knew we would be in my cousin's house for a while. So, I filed for AOS, applied for all Andre's stuff, and changed my name and address on everything to my cousin's address. After 2 weeks an apartment just happened to become available right next door to her. We've been there almost 2 years now and I have decided not to change our address in that time. We continue to go by her address and will continue to do so until we buy a house in the near future.

It's harder then it sounds to change addresses on documents....Not harder really; but a pain in the a$$. More then you think.....DL, Bank, all accounts, job(s), green card, etc., etc., etc. It has really been better for us to leave it at my cousin's. I just have to make the trek over there and pick up our mail.

You can even have the utilities provide service to your apartment and then have you aunt as your billing address.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

The address don't matter. I would just use the one (which sounds like your Aunts) for your mailing address. There is a reason that most paperwork has space for 2 different address and that is because it is perfectly to have a residence address and a mailing address. Many people do it.

It really depends on 'when' you move as to how difficult it may be.

For us, my wife received her visa and came to the United States. After she was here a few weeks, and BEFORE we started the AOS, drivers license, Social security processes, we moved to a larger place.

Considering that we moved prior to her starting any of her paperwork, and I filled out the AR-11 (I think that is the immigrant change address form for her), we didn't have any trouble at all. It was all smooth...no bumps.

However, I've heard a LOT of horror stories from people who change addresses after starting the AOS process...so you might want to beware of that.

Peace to all!
