If an OP really doesn't want their thread revived, they can request it be locked.

You're assuming the OP is still around. I've seen threads resurrected after months in the grave. Also, not everyone realizes they can request their thread be locked.

I'm assuming that for cases like consolemaster originally referenced, where the OP asked him not to revive their threads, hence, they were still around.

Hmm, if the information contained is somehow still pertinent, doesn't hurt to bump older posts? I know that won't always apply with this forum in particular as the very nature of immigration is to change over time, but still, it may be relevant. Some aspects of the process seem fairly rigid, such as being able to travel and visit during the wait for visa approval, and collating people's experiences in a single, easily referenced thread is probably more useful on the whole.

Not all threads, especially in OT, are informational or immigration-related.

Granted. I guess it just needs some means of judgement then, rather than a blanket "yay" or "nay".

I received a request by an OP not to revived them. I will not name the specific OP to protect myself. Anyway, if the thread is relative to your post I think it would be justly revived. What are your views?

If I think something is interesting or funny,I'll add my two cents and not bother to look at the original date.If anybody is offended.....sorry.

Depends on the thread. As Mox pointed out earlier. I have seen an example like this...

"My Husband Arrives Today!"

Poster A - Pick him up at the airport at noon!

Poster B - Great News!

Poster C - Good for you! :D

Poster A - We are so excited! Thanks! :)

Three months later...

Poster D - I'll bet you'll be happy to be together again!

Poster A - Ah, well, yes, We've seen each other for the last 90 days!

Basically, if a thread has ran its course, I think it should expire. I think an "Expiration Date" option should be available to the OP.

Jeffery AND Alla.

Didn't you call me rude once for bumping one of your threads from 2 years ago? :P

Hey hey, I didn't bump it out of spite - I just chose a thread at random and bumped it. Honest :P

In fact, I was really hurt when you called me rude. :crying:

Uh huhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. ;) Lol....eh, who cares. Well over it. :)

Ok, maybe not completely at random, but it was by date. I picked a thread that

was exactly one year older than the current one to confuse the #### out of people.

Sorry it had to be your thread.

old threads will just drop off if no one else posts

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Poor little OP. What a complete travesty of justice! Old threads clogging up cyberspace! Someone call the authorities! Personally, I think this is a perfect example of how spoiled we are as a Nation (I include myself in that category). Tell the OP to get a life, or have them PM me and I'll tell them.

Out of spite I will keep this thread alive for the duration.

I think this thread entered a worm hole.
