I have not seen any other L.A. filers except you and me. I hope I am wrong.

Bob

yes, me neither :(

have you seen what is said about big natulaziation campaign in Latino media in LA prior to fee increase? http://boards.immigrationportal.com/showpo...mp;postcount=23

by no means it's their fault, my own family is half latino, but it explains why San Francisco is scheduling August filers and LA seems to be stuck at beguinning of July cases, so i am waiing for March 15th update for clarification

Thanks for the link. I was not aware of that but of course it is logical that it would happen. Can't help but wish we had been able to start the process a few months earlier.

Those DO timelines are really bogus. According to its published time line the San Jose DO is behind most of the other offices, yet I know of 5 people who are under that office and filed last autumn who have received IL for March or April. Go figure.

Hey, my wife was in the ASC at Wilshire & Figueroa on 2/7 too. Wish we had known who you were. We could have swapped CIS nightmare stories.

yes, i know they are not so reliable, but it's the one and only sort of info that USCIS officially releases (along with monthly reports), so I try to make theories and estimates, but of course it's not serious, i guess i made it just for the sake of some illusion of control over my fate and illusion clear facts.

Perfect word for us - "illusion" This whole process has been an Alice In Wonderland experience for me.

Hi Guys

On one of my wife's Thai websites is the case of someone who filed in L.A. in April 2007, had her interview in January '08 and swore the Oath on March 20. Her Oath would have been sooner but she had to leave the country for a couple of weeks after her interview. She was one of almost 6000 to take the Oath at the L.A. Convention Center. I was considering moving to a faster area but I learned from her story that once you get interviewed you have to do the Oath out of the same D.O. So I'm rethinking the move. It may be that I could get the interview faster but I don't think any place is faster than L.A. when it comes to the number of Oath ceremonies they host.

calling all Los Angeles applicants - please post your news and timelines here!

seems like LA got the most applications out of all DOs, so the July hump will be reeeally long, right now IL (interview Letters) are sent to last week of July, hopefully July will be done by end of June 2008, after that there is a big drop of applications lower even then normal level, so probably all of August-Sep-Oct will be processed within 1 month (supposedly July or August), so people who like me filed in the end of 2007 - aim for August to receive IL, and to have oath 3-4 month later.

unless they really hire those super fast new officers, then be prepared to get ILs with short notice like in some other DOs.
