How do some of you know that your application has been touched? I was wondering where can I go and find out if mine has been touched at all. Thanks in advance for your help and any advice.

Hi Wanda :)

This is a FAQ. Just use the search bar, it's a big help.

You can go onto the USCIS.gov website to check your case status online.

There will be a "Last Updated" date.

If that date changes, whatever the date is, that's the date you were "touched"

Remember though, touches really don't mean anything...someone has simply looked at your file, moved your file, etc. etc. It doesn't necessarily mean anything.

Good Luck :)

Paisana, all you do is go to the uscis.gov website and if the "last updated" date has changed, this means your case has been touched. You can also sign up for instant updates via e-mail.Suerte paisana. ;)

May 7,2007-USCIS received I-129f
July 24,2007-NOA1 was received
April 21,2008-K-1 visa denied.

The interview went well, they told him it will take another 6 months for them to adjudicate the waiver

March 27,2009-Manuel returned to the consulate for another interrogation(because they forgot about December's interview),and they were really rude !

Quick question.... Maybe it's a dumb question; but I figured... It may have happened to some of you already...

Why would you be "touched"; after being approved? My case was approved yesterday 5Mar08; I logged in this morning and I had another updated "Touched" 6Mar08...

I'm guessing maybe to send the approval out to NVC or something, but not quite sure... Awaiting your enlightenment.

Thanks in advance

Wanda

My official "cut & paste" answer regarding "touching"...

"Touching" is meaningless and no big deal. Some petitions get 'touched" and others never do. It only indicates someone had your petition in their hands and made note of it on the database. What truly counts are NOAs (yeah!) and RFEs (Boo!) :)

I am mox, and I approve this message.

As to why you would be touched after approval...who knows? Someone scanned your barcode for some reason. It's an internal function and has no bearing on your case.
