I know, I know, I will just drive myself even more buggy if I get these answers, but . . . .

When I am looking at the processing times and the list says that they are processing applications with a Receipt Date of August 19, does that date refer to the Receipt Date that my Local Office originally stated on its notice or does it refer to the Receipt Date on the California Service Centre transfer notice?

I ask because (and this is the buggy driving part) I would like to know when to count off the 7 month waiting period from: 2007-08-26 or 2007-09-17?*

When I look at the processing times for AoS, do I look at my Local Office (which states that the I-485 that they process is related to "Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status") or do I look under the processing time for the California Service Centre (which states that the I-485 that they process is related to "Employment based adjustment applications" specifically)?

*7 month guesstimation is another tool that I use to drive myself buggy. Just past the 187th day from the FIRST Receipt Date. 7 months is ~214 days.

Additional question:

The notice from the CSC that says that they have received my transferred case has a Receipt Date of 2007-09-17 and a Notice Date (the date that they printed the notice) of 2007-12-17. How is it that they could have received the I-485 at the CSC months before it was transferred there?

I sooooo confused?

I called the USCIS Customer Service line myself (since there was no answer forthcoming at VJ) and found out that it is the earliest date of all the date on the paperwork.

The Receipt Date that is the EARLIEST (in my case, Aug26) is the date to begin the counting. The Notice date is not it. The Receipt Date in California is not it.

So

When the Processing Times for I-485 start showing sometime around Aug25, I can begin counting.

Just thought that I would answer my own question in case someone else besides me wanted the answer, too.

Oh excuse me. When I posted was the first time I saw this thread.

And my remark was more of a funny nature, sorry if it upset you.
