And then I see many B2 cases even faster than K1, that's so weird...really hard to understand the US govt immigration system!!! :huh:

Two months into my B2 stay in US(boston), I am getting married to a USC and then plan to file 130+485.

I know B2 to GC is potentially risky. I am looking to see if anyone else went through the same successfully?

Any recent experiences or any previous posts?

thanks

Our cases are the same, except we were married 5 days before the 6 month (I-94) time period had expired, so by the time our paperwork was filed, my wife was out of status. So far the process is moving along. I hope you get many replies to this thread, because I am interested to hear of all the experiences out there. Good luck to you.

I adjusted from VWP, had my interview today and was approved. Got one question about intent and that was it, though I had proof that I did not intend to get married when I entered the country.

Actually, how to prove that no intention to get married when enter to the States??

I have a friend she came here with B-2 too, and she has her wedding gown in her luggage, of coz she was lucky and how dare she was!! She came here in May 07, get married and changed status in July 07. She received EAD and AP in Oct 07 and finally had interview in Jan 08. (approved)

The most envious is she was the last group to pay the old fee!!! :o

Came on B2, overstayed 8 years, got married, had kid. At the interview the IO never asked any questions apart from verifying name/address/DOB. Looked through documents (birth certs/marriage cert/passports) but never looked at any "evidence" and that was that! Approved us, GC came 2 weeks later.

Thanks all for the replies.

To SWEHURRICANE;

1.Could you please tell me what were the officer's questions on intent and what was the proof you showed ( if you feel comfortable mentioning).

2. It took you 4 months to get approved ; how much time do you think it will take to get your GC?

thanks

After asking when I entered the country and saying "as a visitor" he just asked "so you entered to get married?" to which we replied "no" and explained our situation. He never asked for proof. Bummer, since I was prepared with a letter from my landlord, a letter from my mom who had to clear out my house for me and put all my things into storage and a letter from my employer.

The IO said I should have my GC in about 2 weeks.
